Cameron. You realize if we played by the rules right now we'd be in gym?

Chicago is SO much more fun than being in gym. Ferris really knew what he was talking about. This post is a bunch of random things I learned about the city. I learned a ton more than mentioned and actually some of the mentioned may be made up...who knows, I'm just repeating what they told me!

"Ferris Bullers Day Off" is deffo one of my favorite movies of all time. while taking a double decker bus tour I found out that the parade scene was filmed gorilla style...meaning, no one knew they were filming, there was a big Polish parade going on so Matthew and some of the cast and crew went down there and just winged it. Even the scene where he jumped on the float and started singing was improv. WOW, he is a brave kid!

"While You Were Sleeping" was also filmed in Chicago and this is Peters building! The scene with the cat was also a real apartment in the building.

The first building is Trump tower and the triangle building is Chicago's prison.* All of those slats are only a few inches wide. Since the building was in the middle of the city they didn't want to put in bars. The very top is where the prisoners get there outside time.
* Lil Wayne isn't actually in this prison. I don't know where he actually is.
When Chicago started getting a little bigger people started to move out of the city and into the suburbs. The city decided to build these towers in an effort to keep people from leaving. These buildings came fully equipped with grocery stores, a bowling ally, theater, parking and anything else you might need. The buildings were also the inspiration behind The Jetsons cartoon home.
While visiting Chicago Walt Disney saw this castle like tower and designed Cinderellas castle after it. The tower in Chicago was built to hide a giant water pump that people thought was ugly.
How great is this building? It's balcony's were designed to make the building look like the waves in Lake Michigan. (which is HUGE by the way, It looks like the ocean, you guys probably already knew that but I had no idea how BIG it was!)
Sears Tower, It's a 108 story building. It's currently the tallest building in The U.S. It can sway up to 6 inches because of the wind. It's pretty crazy up there. Add in the Sky Decks they installed, which are clear plastic boxes you can walk out on and look below you like you are floating above the city.
I felt that feeling when you are in a car driving up a mountain and you look out the window and there is a cliff on your side and you see straight down and your tummy flips a little bit. You know that feeling? EVERYONE should do it. It's awesome!
PS. Didn't think I would have my picture taken. I was all by myself and plus I didn't know anyone in Chicago.

Something so bad just happened. Looking at the pics of those very tall buildings, and you standing in the middle of the sky, made me VERY sea sick. I think I have to go puke now.

But - yay for fun vaca! I'm telling everyone I know that you're moving to Chicago.

Yeah for the gay couple. That was an amazing pic. I had no idea how great chicago was! I think it gets bad press. I never knew how big Lake Michigan was. Is that where we are going to live on a boat with grandma and the aunties!

I was on my way to New Jersey to see Andrea Bocelli when I saw "the lake". Can't wait to have my houseboat and we all live there without a care in the world. And, I am so thankful for the nice looking gay couple, cuz you are SO ADORABLE in Chicago.
